What is Science & Progress?
Good question!
Less of a full-on band and more of a two person musical collaboration, Science & Progress is what happens when singer/songwriters Nik Barbera and Evan Minto join forces. Together, we play both original songs and cover versions of pop, rock, and anything in between (we're even experimenting with rap and other genres). S&P is available to play parties, bars, open-mic nights, or any other venue that allows us to stretch our musical legs.
Which one is Science and which one is Progress?
Science is the guitar, Progress is the keyboard, Evan is the left side of the ampersand, and Nik is the right side. But really, we have no idea.
How did all this get started?
Pretty much, Nik and Evan met in high school, and started playing with singer Grace Lawrence in their senior year. By the summer, Grace was unavailable to perform with us, but we tracked down a few opportunities to play parties and open mics, and ended up recording a six-song self-released EP, titled "Tales from the Caboose." Soon both of us were off to college, but we're now back in New Jersey, ready to take on any opportunity to perform that we can find.
